Played individually or a group game, We used 6 arrows on a standard target face.
Must hit the colours in the following order:

Red – Black – Gold/Yellow – Blue – White

You cannot move to the next colour until the colour you are on has been hit. Any arrows that hit an incorrect colour are discarded. If you hit all 5 colours in order and have a spare arrow leftover, you are AWESOME!!

This requires prep, is best played within a group and can take a while to play as you do need to score. Come up with a list (eg as below) put these on paper to be able to pull them from the hat either before or after each end. You’ll need some time to play this, and you can manipulate it however you wish throughout the game by swapping around when you draw from the hat or having multiple copies of each. Shoot ends and score as usual – then at random pull one of the following from the hat to mess with the total score!

Normal scores apply – no change
REVERSE SCORING (Gold is 1, white=10)
Ignore all golds (10s & 9s)
Any arrows in 10, then halve your current overall score!
Any white scores 20
Two or more arrows in the same colour – Score nothing for those arrows
Any arrow not in the scoring zone is worth 10
Negative scoring – You lose the number of points that you have just scored
Any black scores 15

This game can be played as an individual /group game.
Try and hit the colours of your favourite Marvel character.
10 points for each completed character
Ironman (Yellow, Red)
Spiderman (Blue, Red)
Woferine (Yellow, Black)

Two players.

First player shoots at #1 ball. If successful, advances to #2 ball and so on.
If player #1 misses, then second player has their turn from the beginning or resumes from the last ball hit.
Whoever hits the 9 ball first wins the game.

This is often played in the winter at our club.
Hang a nock with a piece of cotton on the target … Taking it in turns, one arrow at a time, the first person to hit it wins … it’s harder than it sounds and excellent fun. Recommended distance 10 metres (as per AGB minimum shooting distance)

The objective of the game is to play a game of noughts and crosses.
The game is played on a 3 x 3 grid drawn on the back of a target face.
Games are won by having lines of three noughts or crosses, either horizontal, vertical or diagonal.
Archers shoot one arrow alternately. The objective of the game is to play a game of noughts and crosses.
Play as individuals or as a team and decrease grid size to increase difficulty.

This is a team game. Each member of the team shoots three arrows each.
The instructor has two cards; one has the words ‘Odds’ on it and the other has the word ‘Evens’ on it.
When all team members have shot their arrows the instructor will pick one of the cards. If the card with the word ‘odds’ is chosen then all the arrows which have a odd number value (eg 1, 3,5,7,9) score no points.
All the arrows which score an ‘even’ value will get the score of these arrows.
The skill of this game is for the team to decide how many arrows they will put in ‘odd’ numbers and how many in ‘even’ numbers. The team with the highest score after 24 arrows is the winner.

The instructor chooses a colour and tells the group (eg blue).
Each participant shoots one arrow, aiming for the blue and returns behind the waiting line.
Those who score a blue may return and shoot another arrow.
This process continues until only one person remains – the winner!

In each pair, one is the penalty taker and the other is the goalkeeper.
The penalty taker takes the first shot, anywhere, but don’t target. The goalkeeper has to try to match their shot and hit the same colour to save the penalty. If they fail to hit the same colour, then the penalty taker scores and gets the point.
Three penalties are taken, then the participants swap over for the next three penalties.

Variations:

When striking, if the goalkeeper does not save the penalty, the striker scores the value they hit on the target. A number is selected before you start (say 20 points, for example). The person who hits this value in the fewest shots wins.
To make it more of a challenge, rather than hitting the same colour (if the target is numbered), the goalkeeper has to hit the same number.If the goalkeeper saves the penalty, they score the points instead of the striker.

Keep a list of personal best scores for each archer. At each session, try to beat those scores – in the intervening weeks, you hear lots of ‘Can I have this score as my PB, please…!’

Good if you have a large group. Alternatives are available as “bake-off” or any other variation you can come up with to make an order of scoring. The basic premise is to make a pizza – first to achieve this and shout “pizza” wins.
6 arrows per end – you need to shoot the colours in order to make your pizza, Black = burnt pizza – start again!
1 White = pizza base
2 Blue = Any topping of their choice
3 Red = tomato
4 Gold = Cheese

Take a bundle of arrows, drop them to the ground, then the first person picks up arrow from the pile, if there’s any movement, it goes back on the pile. Next person… Not a shooting game, I know, but resets the group concentration if they’re getting bored.
