Specifically for young people aged 11–16 who are passionate about archery and eager to take on leadership roles within the sport. This two-day programme blends practical training with accessible theory, empowering participants to deliver safe, fun, and effective introductory archery sessions. Tailored to suit young learners, the course covers essential topics such as selecting appropriate equipment for beginners, setting up and managing a range safely, and teaching foundational archery techniques. No prior experience is required, making it an ideal starting point for those new to coaching or archery itself.
Upon successful completion, participants receive the Archery GB Young Instructor Award certificate and can begin assisting with range setup, safety supervision, and session support as range assistants. As they grow in experience and confidence, they have the opportunity to upgrade to the full Archery GB Instructor Award at age 17, unlocking further professional development and access to online learning modules. With a focus on building skills, responsibility and enthusiasm, this award not only nurtures future instructors but also fosters a lifelong love for the sport. It’s a perfect stepping stone for schools, youth organisations, and activity centres looking to upskill their young members and cultivate leadership through archery.
